How it works

How paint protection film works

Paint protection film is a clear, tough film laid over the paint. It takes the chips and scratches so your paint doesn’t, and its edges are wrapped where they can be so they don’t show.

Choose the front end — bumper, hood, fenders and mirrors — the panels that take the most hits, or the whole car. A matte or satin film changes a gloss finish too.

What’s included

  • The paint washed and prepared first
  • Film cut to fit each panel
  • Gloss, or matte and satin finishes
  • Edges wrapped where the panel allows
  • Every panel checked with you
  • Care explained before you leave

What decides the price

  • Your car
  • Which panels: partial front, full front or the whole car
  • Gloss or matte film
  • Paint correction before the film goes on

Coverage

Which parts of your car to cover

Most stone chips land on the panels that face the road. Choose how far the film goes, and we go through the exact panels with you.

  • Partial front

The front bumper, the front of the hood and fenders, and the mirrors: the panels that take most of the chips.

  • Full front

The whole hood and both front fenders as well as the bumper and mirrors, so no film edge runs across the hood.

  • Track pack

The full front plus the rocker panels and the other spots that take stones, like the pillars beside the windshield.

  • Full car

Every painted panel, for the most protection and one finish all over, in gloss, or matte and satin.

Questions

Paint protection film questions

What does paint protection film cover?

Whatever you choose: the front end — bumper, hood, fenders and mirrors — or the whole car. The front takes most of the stone chips.

Can I see the film?

Very little. It’s clear, and the edges are wrapped around the panels where they can be.

Can I have a matte finish?

Yes. A matte or satin film protects the paint and gives a gloss car a satin look.

Can I put a ceramic coating on top?

Yes. Many owners add a ceramic coating over the film for easier washing and extra gloss.

How do I look after it?

Wash it as you would paint, by hand where you can, and keep pressure washers away from the edges.

How long is my car with you?

It depends on how many panels you cover. We tell you when we quote, so you can plan around it.

Which panels take the most chips?

The front bumper, the hood, the fenders and the mirrors face the road, so they take most of the stones and grit thrown up on the freeway.

How long does paint protection film last?

Years, when it’s looked after. How long depends on the film and how the car is kept and washed, and we go through the film’s warranty with you when we quote.
