How it works

How we tint your car

We clean every window, cut each piece of film by computer to the exact shape of your glass, then fit it from the inside so the film is protected and the edges sit tight.

You choose the film and the shade. Union Carbon IR is the everyday choice; Ceramic IR keeps the most heat out. Both hold their color and stay clear to see through.

  • Side windows and back window
  • A sun strip across the top of the windshield

  • Old tint taken off when needed

Questions

Car window tinting questions

How dark can I tint my car windows in California?

California allows only clear UV film on the front side windows, a top strip on the windshield kept above a line 29 inches over the driver’s seat, and any shade on the rear side windows and back window when you have outside mirrors on both sides. We go through it with you before we start.

Which film should I choose?

Union Carbon IR blocks up to 75% of infrared heat and holds its color. Ceramic IR blocks up to 87%, the most heat Union film keeps out. Both block 99.99% of UV. If heat is the main reason you’re tinting, choose Ceramic IR.

Can you come to me?

Yes. We tint at our shop on Production Avenue in San Diego, or we come to your home or work within about 30 miles.

How long do I keep the windows up?

Keep the windows up for a few days so the film can settle. A little haze or small water spots while it dries is normal and clears on its own.

Can you take off my old tint?

Yes. If your car has old, faded or bubbling tint, we take it off and clean the glass before fitting the new film. Tell us when you ask for a quote.

How do I clean tinted windows?

Wait until the film has settled, then use a soft cloth and a cleaner without ammonia. Avoid scrapers and rough pads on the inside of the glass.
